  • Literacy – Read aloud: Greta and the Giants (about Greta Thunberg and climate change); reading strategies (e.g., making connections to lesson on Monday and what we notice in our community, world, and everyday lives)
  • Investigate & Explore – extension + deeper thinking about basic climate change concepts
    • Four corners (strongly agree, agree, strongly disagree, disagree) on different statements about climate change. Sharing and communicating perspectives and opinions, and backing them up with evidence.
    • Independent inquiries – Climate Change Kids Nasa & American Museum and Natural History Climate Change
      • Foci: the role carbon (dioxide) plays and the difference between climate and weather
      • Activity: graphic organizer & discussion
    • Different perspectives and experiences on climate change: Meet & Greet – exploring the impact of climate change both locally and globally. Profiles of different people are provided and students take on one of the profiles and interact with other students who have different profiles as them.
  • Quiet Activity – board games, drawing, reading
