Hi families,
It is already the LAST week before spring break! Time has flown by this term. I hope you are all doing well. Please note the following as we wrap up Term 2!
If you have not down so already, please check that you have:
- Shared your home facilitator and student perspectives for report cards: You and your learner have a space in the report card to reflect on your learning this term. It would be greatly appreciated if you can have them prepared in time for your portfolio meeting with me. Please read below for some guiding questions and how you can share your perspectives with me.
- Send a writing sample for the Home Quest School Wide Write: If you have not submitted a writing piece to Home Quest for part of the school-wide write, please do so by Wednesday, March 9. If you are unsure what this is, please refer to the January 14 Home Quest email. (You can find it here: https://homequest.deltasd.bc.ca/news-events/weeklyemails/).
Perspectives on Your Report Cards
In the report cards, there is space for a short summary of learning written by the Home Facilitator. Write 3-5 sentences about the growth or progress that you have seen in your student this term. Some things you could include:
● Highlights
● Things that have impressed you about your child
● Changes/progress that you have observed
There is also space for the student’s perspective on their learning. Ask your child what they have learned so far. Help them recognize their achievements. Here are some questions to guide your child:
● What are some things I enjoyed doing or learning this term?
● What is something I have become better at doing? How do I know I am better?
● What is something I want to get better at doing?
—> Please share this with me through email or by uploading it into the family folders before your Portfolio Meeting.
